POWER MAXIMIZES HARVEST EFFICIENCY
A combine engine takes grueling punishment during harvest. It runs at rated power for hours on end with high demands from threshing and separating systems, hydraulics and propulsion. Its a place where efficiency and durability pay off. Both the 2188 (260 hp/194 kW) and 2166 (215 hp/160 kW) models come equipped with the big 505 cu. in (8.3L) engine used in the hard-working and reliable Case IH MAGNUM tractors. That same technology supplies the dependable 360 cu. in (5.9 L) engine for the model 2144 (174 hp. 130 kW).
Both engines are the result of a recent design effort aimed not at an update of a time-honored design, but rather at raising efficiency and pure power performance to levels unsurpassed in the industry. Computer-aided stress analysis and "real world" testing have enabled Case to identify where to put added weight and strength in the engine and which areas to leave lighter. This results in less overall weight, giving you improved fuel savings and cooling, as well as less maintenance. Other improvements in this engine line boost combustion efficiency, cooling and lubrication. |
