Hydraulic Controls

All STEIGER® 9300 Series tractors are powerful, reliable and efficient, especially with their improved-response hydraulics.

The closed-center pressure compensating hydraulic system puts out high pressure, but only when it’s called for by a load. When you’re not using hydraulics, the pump isn’t putting out full pressure, so it won’t siphon off engine power like the hydraulics on other tractors.

And you won’t be left short when you need power. The system senses any change in demand and immediately matches pressure to the load with as much as 30 gpm (114 L/min) flow to the remotes. As a result, your tractor and implement keep working at peak efficiency. Because the hydraulic system is not under constant high pressure, it reduces horsepower loss and improves operating efficiency.

Hydraulics feature a 2900 psi (19995 kPa) system pressure — fully 16% more than previous 4WD models — for faster response on your specialty applications. The 9390 also has a new 60 gpm high output hydraulic system as standard equipment, for operating big seeding systems like air seeders and air drills. The 60 gpm high output hydraulic system will be available as an option on 9370, 9380, 9390 and QUADTRAC® tractors for 1998 production.

3-PT HITCH
For mounted implements and other specialty applications, equip your STEIGER 9300 series tractor with a 3-pt. hitch. New hitch controls, including dual remote switches, make it even more user friendly.

*Note: A 3-point hitch will be available for all 1998 models.

Lift capacities range from 12,750 to 17,000 lbs. (5783 to 7711 kg) depending on the model. Electronic positioning and the "Hitch Command" rocker switch provides precise, simple control.

Dealer-installed draft sensing on the 9330 and 9350 further expands your hitch control and productivity.

PTO
The optional 1000 rpm independent PTO offers smooth auxiliary power to run pull-type combines, grain wagons and other specialty applications. A PTO is available on all ten tractor versions.

MODULAR DESIGN
Thanks to their modular design, a PTO or 3-pt. hitch can be factory- or field-installed on the 9300 Series tractors. This allows you to meet a wide range of ever-changing farming applications.

9390 HIGH OUTPUT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

The high output hydraulic system on the 9390 produces up to 60 GPM combined flow at the remote hydraulic valves. The system is supplied oil from the two pumps through special circuitry and an additional hydraulic oil filter. (Available as an option for 1998 production on models 9370, 9380, 9390 and QUADTRAC® tractors.)

SYSTEM FEATURES:

  • In the high output system, the No. 1 and No. 2 remote valves are separated from the No. 3 and No. 4 remote valves. The PFC pump supplies oil to the No. 1 and No. 2 remote valves, while the No. 3 and No. 4 remote valves receive oil from the new gear pump circuit. The return oil is routed through a new filter and back to the charge circuit.

  • The new gear pump in the high output system supplies priority flow to the steering system, PFC piston pump and the No. 3 and No. 4 remote valves.

  • A new standard feature of the high output hydraulic system is the integral "lock checks" in the lift ports of the third and fourth remote valve sections. The first two remote valve sections do not have lock checks. This features gives operators an option to operate equipment with a holding check valve or without it.

  • An additional filter provides better filtering and longer system life.
